Standing Firm in the Storm

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." –Ephesians 6:13

There's something powerful and holy about drawing closer to God. As you seek Him more intentionally–through prayer, the Word, and worship–you begin to notice a shift. His peace becomes your anchor. His joy strengthens your heart. But often, just as you take one step forward, the spiritual attacks start creeping in. Doubts arise. Unexpected chaos breaks out. Weariness hits harder than usual. Why?

Because the enemy doesn't waste time attacking those who aren't a threat. But when your spirit is stirring, when your soul is waking up, when you start walking in the power and purpose God has placed on your life–that's when the opposition comes.

It can feel discouraging. Maybe you thought pressing in would make life easier. But Jesus never promised ease–He promised presence. He promised peace in the storm, not absence of the storm. He said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

So, how do we stand firm in the chaos?

We stay rooted in truth. Open your Bible even when your emotions are shouting louder than your faith. Pray even when it feels dry. Worship even when your heart is heavy. Refuse to let the enemy convince you that God has abandoned you–because He never will.

The attacks may come, but they don't define your future. The waves may crash, but you have a rock to stand on. Keep showing up. Keep trusting. Keep moving forward, even if it's just one step at a time.

Victory is often found not in the absence of battle, but in your decision to keep standing in the middle of it.

Prayer:

Father, I thank You that You are with me in the chaos. Strengthen me when I feel attacked. Help me cling to Your truth and trust in Your promises. I choose to stand firm in faith, knowing that You are my refuge and my victory. In Jesus' name, amen.
